Letter: Judge made right call on defense act
U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest upheld the U.S. Constitution on May 16 by telling the Obama administration that all Americans are protected from Section 102 (b) (2) of the National Defense Authorization ActBy: Leroy Vetsch, Brewster, Worthington Daily Globe
U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest upheld the U.S. Constitution on May 16 by telling the Obama administration that all Americans are protected from Section 102 (b) (2) of the National Defense Authorization Act. This section allowed for the indefinite detention of people designated by the government as terrorists or terror-linked individuals.
This is a victory for the American people because it takes power away from any administration to declare individuals as terrorists without due process of law.
Thank you, Judge Katherine B. Forrest.
