LEGION BASEBALL: Luverne Legion scores 4 in the bottom of the sixth to beat Pipestone

LUVERNE — Luverne Legion scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off Pipestone 5-1 Tuesday in baseball action.

LUVERNE — Luverne Legion scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off Pipestone 5-1 Tuesday in baseball action.

Connor Fitzer was 3-for-3 with a run, Richard Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, Josh Slieter got the win on the mound and was 1-for-2 with two RBIs at the plate for Luverne (2-0).

Nate Dubbelde had the lone RBI and Josh Mabon scored the lone run for Pipestone.

Luverne will play in the Brandon Valley tournament Friday.

Edgerton 8, Okabena 5

EDGERTON — Dominic Nibbelink gave up three earned runs and struck out nine in six innings on the mound and Blake Jouwstra was 2-for-2 with two runs and a three-run triple to lead Edgerton Legion Tuesday.

Gabe Vander Veen was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Luke Nibbelink was 1-for-2 with a run and Adam LaFollete was 2-for-3 with two runs to lead Edgerton (2-1).

Alex Meyer was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Okabena.

Edgerton will host Fulda Tuesday.
