The Nobles County Library in Worthington is a busy place, and that activity at the library definitely merits our attention because there is a need to build a new, roomier library facility. More space is needed to adequately house the collection of materials and provide programming activities for children. The number of people utilizing the library continues to grow, with statistics giving the proof.

The number of people in the library from January to May 2012 was 31,247. The number of people using the in-house computers to access the Internet during January to May numbered 5,314. The wireless connection provided by the library has been well utilized, too, with 769 users through May 2012.

Children’s programs have really kept the library staff busy as well, with 22 programs being given and 656 children in attendance - and that’s only for the month of May. Nobles County is growing, and the public library needs to grow as well. Be informed and support the efforts to find a location, and build a new, free public library.
