HUTCHINSON — The Worthington Area storm went 2-3 at the Hutchinson Tournament Saturday and Sunday, falling in the consolation championship in 18-and-under softball action.
Worthington Area won Game 1 over Forest Lake 11-5 Saturday. Christine Kazemba was 4-for-4 with an RBI, Angela Robinson was 4-for-4 with two RBIs, Rebecca Kazemba had two RBIs, K.C. Riley had three hits and an RBI and Jenny Majerus had three RBIs to lead the Storm. Robinson got the win on the mound, pitching six innings and striking out five.
Worthington Area lost Game 2 to the Minnesota Chaos 8-2. Christine Kazemba had two hits and an RBI and Rebecca Kazemba had an RBI for the Storm.
Worthington Area dropped Game 3 Saturday as well, falling to Painsville 7-3. Robinson had two hits and an RBI and Brandie Timmerman also chipped in an RBI to lead the Storm.
Worthington Area split its two games on Sunday, beating Eveleth 4-2 and falling to Maple Lake 6-1 in the consolation championship.
Robinson had a single and an RBI and struck out six in six innings versus Eveleth, while Ida Rogers-Ferguson added an RBI for the Storm.
Rebecca Kazemba had two singles and Kayla Lonneman had an RBI in the loss to Maple Lake.
Worthington will play Tuesday at Cleveland.
