SLAYTON — The Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Tuesday at 2401 20th Street, Slayton, and arrested an adult male.
According to BRDTF Commander Troy Appel, agents, with help from the Murray County Sheriff’s Office and Slayton Police Department, located and seized 112 marijuana plants, 14 firearms, a usable quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a synthetic cannabinoid, drug paraphernalia and other miscellaneous items.
As of Wednesday afternoon, charging decisions had not been made, but Appel said additional information will be available after charges are filed.
Appel did not supply the name of the suspect, but other sources have identified the man as 33-year-old David Michael Brown of Slayton.
At the time of his arrest, Brown was on probation for a 2010 conviction of domestic assault.
That probation was extended several times due to violations and court orders. Brown is currently being held in the Lyon County Jail on arrest charges of fifth-degree controlled substance possession, meth crimes involving children and possession of firearms.
