16-AND-UNDER SOFTBAL: WA goes 2-1 in Fairmont

FAIRMONT — Worthington Area took second in the Fairmont Tournament Sunday in 16-and-under softball action.

Worthington Area (7-7) defeated Rochester 12-4, Rosemount 12-1 before falling 10-7 to Fairmont in the championship.

In Game 1, Rebecca Kazemba and Miranda LeBrun were both 3-for-3.

In Game 2, Paige Kinley got the win on the mound and Rebecca Linder and Morgan LeBrun were each 3-for-3.

In the championship game, K.C. Riley was 4-for-4 and Betsy Thompson was 3-for-4 to lead Worthington Area.

Worthington Area will take on Waseca in St. James Tuesday.
