Obituary: Anna Schultz

Anna Leonora Dorothea Schultz, age 90 was born on May 24, 1922 in Rost Township, Jackson County the daughter of Henry and Rieke (Siebels) Onken.

Anna Leonora Dorothea Schultz, age 90 was born on May 24, 1922 in Rost Township, Jackson County the daughter of Henry and Rieke (Siebels) Onken. She attended Ewington and Rost schools. Anna was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Rost Township. Anna married Edgar Schultz on July 11, 1943. They began farming in Ewington Township in 1948. In 1951 they moved to Indian Lake Township where they continued to farm. She enjoyed all aspects of farming, fishing, camping, and gardening. Anna and Edgar wintered in Texas for seventeen years. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends, she always had coffee and cookies for her guests. Anna was a member St. Matthew Lutheran Church and belonged to the Round Lake Legion Auxiliary 0461. Anna died on July 7, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Center in Windom, MN.

Anna is survived by one brother August (Clara Mae) Onken of Clarissa, MN; three sisters-in-law, Leona Onken of Worthington, MN, Peggy Onken of Mountain Lake, MN, and Shirley Onken of Fairmont, MN; two brothers-in-law, Norman Schultz of Titus, AL and Allan Schultz of Lakefield, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Anna is preceded in death by her husband Edgar, two sisters Marie and Elizabeth; six brothers, Hans, Jerry, Fritz, Arnold, Walter, and Reinold “Mike”.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington with Pastor Joe Behnke officiating. Burial will be at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.
