Name: Vicky Ross

Commissioner District: 2

City or Township in which you reside: Adrian

Occupation: Commercial Loan Assistant/PC Administrator

What qualifications do you have for seeking a county board seat? I was employed with the Nobles County for over 11 years. During that time I worked with the Board, department heads, human resources and the public. For the past 7 years, I have been employed as a Commercial Loan Assistant/PC Administrator. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Governmental Accounting. As the people of Nobles County need to elect all new Commissioners, I would be able to help with the transition. I have the background of working for Nobles County and the education of understanding how government should work.

What is your top priority in county government? To begin rebuilding the trust of the public and the board’s relationship with department heads and the employees that work for Nobles County. We need to show the surrounding cities & counties that we are willing to work with them.

Explain ideas you have to address your top priority: The County Board needs to look at holding meetings in the evening to accommodate public involvement. They need to be more transparent to the people of Nobles County. They need to ask department heads for input on decisions that affect their individual departments. The County Board also needs to meet with the officials of surrounding cities and counties to see where we can begin collaborating again.

What would you like to see accomplished in the county in the next four years? I would like to see better relations with department heads, employees and the public of Nobles County. The strain of the past needs to be put behind us so we can all work together to make Nobles County a better place.

Additional Comments: I look forward to the opportunity to serve as a Nobles County Commissioner. As stated before, we will need to work together, bring forward new ideas and strive for a better County. The public has spoken and its time we listen.
