FAIRMONT — Having only eight players Monday night didn’t stop Worthington Area Black from sweeping a doubleheader with Fairmont in 14-and-under softball action.
Worthington Area (12-1) won 15-3 in Game 1 in five innings and 9-3 in Game 2 in six innings.
Ida Rogers-Ferguson got the win in both games, striking out 14 and walking none in 11 innings on the mound. Rogers-Ferguson was also 2-for-4 with four RBIs, while Morgan LeBrun had two RBIs, Megan Kluever had an RBI and Abby Smith had a double in Game 1.
In Game 2, LeBrun, Smith and Rachel Koller each had an RBI for Worthington Area.
Worthington Area Black will take on Worthington Area Red at Centennial Field Wednesday.
