Bash in the Grass is Saturday in Luverne
LUVERNE — Musical entertainment and 750 pounds of ribs will be served up from 4 p.m. to Midnight for the first ever Bash in the Grass this Saturday at the Luverne City Park.
LUVERNE — Musical entertainment and 750 pounds of ribs will be served up from 4 p.m. to Midnight for the first ever Bash in the Grass this Saturday at the Luverne City Park.
The event will incorporate the third annual BBQ Rib Cook-Off and fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, with a Live Band from 8 p.m. to midnight as a fundraiser for the building addition project for the Luverne Hockey Arena.
BBQ ribs will be judged at 5 p.m., with serving of ribs, pulled pork, sweet corn, watermelon and ice cream from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Free entertainment includes Tequila Sunrise from 4 to 5:30 p.m., the rib cook-off awards presentation from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and a performance by Not Exactly from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Admission will be charged for the live band, Powerplay, which is open to those ages 18 and older with an ID. Concessions will be operated by the Luverne Hockey Club.
A beer garden will also be open from 4 p.m. to midnight.
