WILMONT — Wilmont knocked off Mountain Lake 14-4 to win the three-game series 2-0 Saturday and advance to the Region 13C tournament beginning Wednesday in amateur baseball action.
Steven Kremer was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a homer and drove in four to lead the Cardinals. Blake Rogers also had four RBIs and a homer, Justin Saufley drove in three and smashed a homer and Lucas Henning scored four runs to pace the Cardinals.
Stuart Rogers got the win on the mound for Wilmont.

Hadley knocked off Fox Lake 7-6 in 15 innings Saturday and 14-13 Sunday to move on to the tourney in dramatic fashion.
Joe Larson, Eric Wieneke, Nate Wieneke, Max Zwart and Alex Peterson each had two hits for the Buttermakers Saturday.
Hadley scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth in the deciding game of the three-game series. Eric Wieneke had three RBIs and a homer and Paul Counter had three RBIs to lead Hadley Sunday.
Region 13C second round playoff seeds were announced Monday with three-game series beginning Wednesday. Fairmont got the top seed and will take on No. 8 seed Minneota. No. 2 seed Wilmont will take on Milroy, which took the seventh seed, No. 3-seeded Jackson will play No. 6-seeded Hadley and Luverne will take on Pipestone, earning a four and five seed, respectively.
As for draftees, Pipestone picked up Worthington’s Mitch Jensen, Hadley got Windom’s Chad Lindaman, Milroy picked up Tracy’s Phil Madsen, Minneota got Heron Lake’s Ethan Duffy, Fairmont got Fox Lake’s Jon Traetow, Wilmont drafted HL’s Thomas Albrecht, Jackson picked up Fox Lake’s Brennan Holm and Luverne added Adrian’s Zach Dingmann.
