JACKSON — The Jackson Bulls beat the Hadley Buttermakers by a score of 9-3 in the Game 1 of the best-of-three Region 13C amateur league playoffs Thursday night in Jackson.
Jackson scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. The bottom of the second would be more of the same for the Bulls, with their offense pilling on six more runs to increase their lead to eight.
Jackson scored their last run of the game in the bottom of the fourth, making the score 9-0. Hadley finally got on the board in top of the sixth to come within six runs, but that would be all the Buttermakers could muster before their time ran out.
Ryan Rasche got the win for Jackson, pitching six innings while allowing only four hits, four walks and striking out five batters.
The losing pitcher for Hadley was Justin Riensma.
Andy Wolf and Caleb Rossow were both 3-for-5, while Blaise Jacobson and Pat Rients both had two hits.
Jamie Bolter had two hits for Hadley.
The two teams will meet for Game 2 today at 2 p.m. in Hadley.
