JACKSON — A report of stolen items last week led to the arrest of two Windom men after a stolen vehicle was found partially submerged in Lake Independence.
According to a report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation started July 24 regarding the theft of items from vehicles on Southwest Shore Drive on Fish Lake. A computer, purses, a tent, a wakeboard and several GPS units were stolen.
A 2003 PT Cruiser was also stolen and later recovered from the lake in Christiania Township.
The investigation led authorities to execute two search warrants in the city of Windom, and some of the stolen items were recovered. Deputies arrested Alex James Peiffer and Clinton Roy Glidden, both 22, of Windom. They were each charged with aid and advise theft of a motor vehicle, aid and advise theft and aid and advise criminal damage to property.
The bond for each was set at $20,000.
