Letter: Gun-control laws are common sense
If anyone thinks I am dead to this world of misery and woe, they should just try lifting the coffin lid.By: Michael Marcotte, Rushmore, Worthington Daily Globe
If anyone thinks I am dead to this world of misery and woe, they should just try lifting the coffin lid.
Every day in this country (and not Canada) there are 80 deaths due to gun violence. For the last 10 years, the number of gun deaths has held steady — an average of 10,000 per year, every year. What have we learned since Columbine? Apparently little.
And, the answer is no. There have been no new gun regulations. There are no “pending” gun regulations. When paranoids buy all the bullets, there is a shortage of bullets. So much for conspiracy, eh?
Answer me now: Do you want to close the loopholes that allow no background checks at gun shows? Yes or no. Do you feel that “cop killers” bullets (dum dums) should be banned? Yes or no. Do you think that individuals named on the “no-fly” terrorist watch list should be able to buy a firearm? Yes or no?
Imagine that. We are not so different after all.
