Letters: Nite to Unite made possible by many

On behalf of the Worthington Police Department, I would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Nite to Unite.

On behalf of the Worthington Police Department, I would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Nite to Unite.

We had an very good turnout, both with the event and blood drive. Our goal this year was to educate the public and build relationships within the community by giving everyone who attended the opportunity to meet and talk with police, fire and ambulance personnel.

All of us who work in public safety take great pride in the responsibility and trust that you have put in us. It is our hope that you had the opportunity to see that we are your friends and neighbors who have stepped up to the challenge of serving this wonderful community. In short, we do what we do because we care about each and every one of you.

Special thanks to the following: Holly Sieve with Sanford Worthington Medical Center, who helped coordinate the blood drive, air ambulance and zoo exhibit; Worthington Civil Air Patrol cadets, who helped set up, work and clean up the event; Nobles County Beef Cattlemen’s Association, who generously donated 400 high-quality hamburger patties’ Hy-vee, Fareway and Wal-Mart, who donated drinks, chip and other supplies; and Pioneer Village and the Nobles County Fair Board, who year after year allow us to use their facilities.
