Pipestone National Monument 75th Anniversary schedule of events

8 a.m. to 8 p.m., historic photos on display in the visitor center auditorium; “Pipestone: An Unbroken Legacy,” a 22-minute film, showing on the hour in the visitor center auditorium

8 a.m. to 9 p.m., cultural demonstrations, visitor center

8 a.m. to noon, guided walking tours of the Circle Trail, starting on the hour at the visitor center

8 a.m. to noon, open house of the National Park Service maintenance facility, showcasing the new solar electrical system, Minnesota West Community & Technical College, Pipestone campus.

9 to 10 a.m., guest speaker Dale Henning, visitor center auditorium.

10 a.m., open house and refreshments, visitor center

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., official post office stamp cancellation, visitor center

10:30 a.m., informal special tribal gathering, visitor center

1 p.m., 75th anniversary program, featuring remarks by NPS officials and dignitaries

4 to 5 p.m., guest speaker Tom Sanders, visitor center auditorium
