WILLMAR — The Worthington girls’ soccer team lost a close 1-0 game to the Willmar Cardinals Saturday in Willmar.
Willmar scored in the first nine minutes of the game, but the Worthington defense held strong the rest of the half, only allowing one other shot by Willmar.
The Trojans were able to get a ball past the Cardinals goalie, but it was called back by the officials on an offsides.
“We weren’t able to come back, but the scoreboard didn’t accurately show how we played,” Trojans coach Emily Ahlquist said.
