PREP VOLLEYBALL: Mountain Lake Area picks up first win

TRUMAN — The Mountain Lake Area Wolverines picked up their first win of the season in a 3-1 victory over the Truman Bluejays Tuesday in Truman.

The Wolverines dropped a close first game to the Bluejays by a score of 25-20. But MLA battled back and dominated the second game, coming out on top with a 25-10 win to even the score at 1-1.

Truman put up more of a fight in Game 3, but it was not enough as MLA took a 25-16 victory to make it a 2-1 match in favor of the Wolverines. The fourth game was once again dominated by MLA, who won the game 25-13 to win the match.

Rachel Dukes had 30 set assists for the Wolverines, while Janessa Peters picked up 20 kills to propel the offense. Briana Wolff went 23-for-23 on the serve for MLA.

The Wolverines will travel to Fulda today for a 5 p.m. game against the Raiders.
