RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Sealed bids for the work described below will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, City of Worthington, 303 9th Street, Worthington, MN, 56187 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of City Hall by a bid opening committee. The bids and the responsibility of the bidders will be considered publicly by the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on September 24, 2012 in Council Chambers, 303 9th Street, Worthington, Minnesota.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work includes the construction of approximately:

190,000 CY Common Excavation 1,000 LF 24" Sanitary Sewer Pipe

10,500 SY 8.0" Concrete Pavement 2,200 LF 12" Watermain

700 TON Bituminous Pavement 330 LF 24" - 36" Steel Casing Pipe

600 LF Precast Concrete Box Culverts 26 AC Seeding

1,000 LF 12" - 24" Reinforced Concrete Pipe 36,000 LF Pavement Markings - Paint

9,400 LF 4" - 6" Perforated PE Pipe Drain 6,000 LF Pavement Markings - Epoxy

together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with Plans and Specifications.

COMPLETION OF WORK: All work under the Contract must be substantially complete by September 13, 2013. Final completion must be accomplished by September 27, 2013.

BID SECURITY: A certified check, cash, money order or proposal bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of City of Worthington shall accompany each bid.

OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby.
