Letter: WAF helps creates lasting legacy

The Worthington Area Foundation is entering the part of the year where we solicit grant applications and award grants to non-profit organizations in the area. While many people have heard that these grant applications are available at the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce office, quite a few people have asked me what type of projects the Worthington Area Foundation funds.

Worthington Area Foundation awards grants to projects that address one of several priority areas, which include: Arts and Culture, Environmental Causes, Education/Youth Development, or other Civic Activities designed to strengthen the community. We are looking for opportunities that will make a positive and lasting impact. Grants range in size from several hundred to several thousand dollars. The grant funds are not intended to be part of an organization’s annual budget, but to help an organization accomplish a specific goal or project.

Worthington Area Foundation strives to make the Worthington are an even better place to live with a lasting community investment and legacy. So if anyone is interested in making a lasting investment in the Worthington area, we invite you to partner with us by making a donation or volunteering with us. WAF accepts donations of any size throughout the year. Donations may be made online through our new website, www.wgtnareafoundation.org, or may be sent to WAF, PO Box 373, Worthington 56187.
