COLTON, SD — The Pipestone Area Arrows volleyball team took eighth place in the Eastern Valley Classic volleyball tournament in Colton, SD Saturday.
The Arrows took on Tea Area in their first game of the tournament, losing 25-14, 17-25, 25-13.
Nicole Hollingsworth led the team in kills with eight, followed by Tayla Kruisselbrink and Megan Remund with five kills and four digs apiece. Amanda Haupert (18) and Brittany Evans (10) lead the team in digs, while Kelly Nettik finished the match with 14 set assists.
In Game 2, the Arrows fell to Sisseton 25-14, 25-22.
Kruisselbrink led the team in kills with five to go along with one block, while Nettik had eight digs for the Arrows.
Pipestone’s last game of the tournament was against Milbank, which the Arrows 27-25, 25-20.
Kruisselbrink once again led the team in kills with six, while Aneka Bucher and Remund had three kills each. Remund also had three blocks for the Arrows, while Haupert led the team in digs with 17. Evans was second on the team with 10 digs and Mikayla Enger was third with eight. Nettik had 13 set assists in the game, while Brianna Rieck had four.
The Arrows travel to Fulda to take on the Raiders today at 5 p.m. in Fulda. PA then hosts Marshall on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
