The Trojan girls' soccer team fell 6-3 to Mankato Loyola in a soccer match Tuesday.
“The first half we played really poorly,” WHS coach Emily Ahlquist said. “We were not able to connect on passes and we had no control of the ball. We couldn’t communicate well either.”
Mankato Loyola scored four goals in the first half, while the Trojans could not put up much of their own.
“We had a talk at half time about what we needed to do better,” Ahlquist said. “They scored their fifth goal two minutes into the second, but then we picked it up.”
Worthington scored all their goals in the second half, two from Ana Castillo and one from Lydia Kemper.
“The second half we played a lot better,” Ahlquist said. “We were connecting on our passes and we had our chances. We just did a lot better.”
The Trojans come home Thursday to host Mankato West in a 6:45 p.m. match at Trojan Field.
