PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Burmeister leads JCC over RV

REDWOOD FALLS — Kaylee Burmeister led the Jackson County Central Huskies with 13 kills and eight digs in a sweep of Redwood Valley Tuesday. JCC won 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15 on the night.

REDWOOD FALLS — Kaylee Burmeister led the Jackson County Central Huskies with 13 kills and eight digs in a sweep of Redwood Valley Tuesday.

JCC won 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15 on the night.

Michelle VanEpps led the team in set assists with 33 to go along with six blocks and six digs for the Huskies. Sydnee Donnelli was a perfect 17 for 17 on the serve with two aces, four blocks and six digs, while Jasmine Erikson had 10 blocks, seven digs, eight kills and two aces.

Shelby Benson was 12 for 14 serving with three aces and seven digs. Rachel Johnson was eight for eight on the serve with an ace and three digs.

JCC takes on New Richland-H-E-G Thursday in Jackson.

Marshall 3, Luverne 0

LUVERNE — Paige Baker was five of seven serving with two aces, three kills and nine digs as the Luverne Cardinals were swept by Marshall Tuesday.

Marshall won 25-10, 25-12 and 25-16.

Ashlin Curtis was nine for nine on the serve for the Cardinals, while Taylor Stratton picked up eight blocks on the night. Lexi Rust had nine digs and six kills to go along with Ellen Dahl’s nine digs. Ashley Olson added 10 set assists in the game.

Luverne hosts Fulda Thursday.

Windom 3, PA 0

PIPESTONE — Holly Larson had five blocks and nine kills for the Windom Eagles in a sweep of the Pipestone Area Arrows Tuesday.

Windom defeated PA 25-11, 25-21, 25-8.

Hali Tasler was perfect on the serve (21 for 21) with three aces to go along with 16 digs and 19 kills for the Eagles. Jasmine Carlson had five aces and 18 digs, while Shelby Mattson added 12 set assists and 14 digs.

Kelly Nettik had 12 set assists for the Arrows, while Taylor Kruisselbrink had six kills. Nicole Hollingsworth picked up five kills and Megan Remund added three blocks on the night. Amanda Haupert had 23 digs to lead the defense.

Windom travels to Minneota Thursday, while PA hosts Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Thursday.

R-T-R 3, Edgerton 0

EDGERTON — Sarah Post had four aces, five kills and five blocks for the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen in a three game loss to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Tuesday.

R-T-R took down Edgerton 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.

Jessica Menning was five for five on the serve with five blocks for the Dutchmen, while Tara DeKam had five kills. Ciara Everett picked up four digs on the night.

Edgerton will travel to R-T-R on Monday for the opening round of the Section 3A tournament.

SFC 3, SWC 0

EDGERTON — Amber Pater led the Southwest Christian Eagles with 10 kills, five digs and two aces in a loss to Sioux Falls Christian Tuesday.

SFC won 25-12, 27-25 and 25-23.

Hannah Van Dyke had 20 set assists and seven digs, while Morgan Van Hulzen had four kills, four blocks and an ace. Shelby Klarenbeek added eight digs on the night.

SWC has a bye in the first round of the Section 3A tournament, so it will not play again until Oct. 26.

H-BC 3, Ellsworth 0

HILLS — Paige Leuthold led the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots to a sweep of the Ellsworth Panthers with 17 set assists Tuesday.

Hattie Van Wyhe had five kills, Kelli Esselink had four kills and three blocks and Jessica Sandbulte picked up six digs for the Patriots. Meghan Leuthold had three blocks in the game and Haley Van Wyhe added six digs.

Hannah Mulder had seven kills to go along with Alexa Huisman’s four kills and seven aces for the Panthers. Bridget Kramer picked up 12 digs and six set assists, while Danielle DeBeer had 17 digs and four aces.

Ellsworth heads to Red Rock Central Monday, while H-BC heads to Adrian in the opening round of the Section 3A tournament.
