PREP FOOTBALL: Adrian, Luverne nab No. 1 seeds
WORTHINGTON — Both the Luverne Cardinals (7-1) and the Adrian Dragons (6-2) received the No. 1 seed in their respective football section tournaments. WORTHINGTON — Both the Luverne Cardinals (7-1) and the Adrian Dragons (6-2) received the No. 1 seed in their respective football section tournaments.
The Cardinals host St. James in the Section 3AA playoffs, while the Dragons host Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman in the Section 3A playoffs.
The Section 3AA tournament will also features the two seed Jackson County Central (6-2) Huskies who will host the No. 7 Windom Area Eagles (0-8).
Also taking part in the Section 3A playoffs are the five seed Murray County Central Rebels (3-5) traveling to four seed Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial. The Southwestern United Wildcats (2-6) received the seventh seed and will play at St. Clair.
In the Section 3 9-Man tournament, the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots (8-0) grabbed the two seed and will host No. 7 Hancock, while the No. 3 Edgerton/Ellsworth (7-1) Flying Dutchmen host No. 6 Renville County West. The Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers (4-4) took the four seed and will host the Fulda Raiders (2-6).
The Mountain Lake Area Wolverines (6-2) drew the two seed in the Section 2 9-Man playoffs and will host the Minnesota State Acamdemy for the Deaf.
In the Section 5A tournament, the Red Rock Central Falcons (4-4) took the fourth seed and will host Wabasso.
All games will be played Tuesday at 7 p.m.
