PREP VOLLEYBALL: Huskies defeat Arrows

JACKSON — Kathryn Nasby was a perfect 15 for 15 serving with two aces and a team-leading nine digs for the Jackson County Central Huskies in a Section 3AA playoff volleyball match against the Pipestone Arrows Tuesday.

JACKSON — Kathryn Nasby was a perfect 15 for 15 serving with two aces and a team-leading nine digs for the Jackson County Central Huskies in a Section 3AA playoff volleyball match against the Pipestone Arrows Tuesday.

JCC took the first game 25-19 and then grabbed a 25-17 win in Game 2. The Huskies finished off the Arrows in Game 3 by a score of 25-15.

Jasmine Erickson was 13 of 14 on the serve with one ace to go along with four blocks, seven digs and five kills for the Huskies. Sydnee Donnelli was a perfect 9 for 9 serving and had two blocks, an ace and seven kills.

Lydia Brandt was tied for the team lead in kills with seven and also picked up a block in the game for JCC. Kaylee Burmiester had eight digs and seven kills, while Michelle Van Epps added four digs and 24 set assists.

Rachel Johnson was 11 for 11 on the serve with seven digs to go along with a 4 for 6 serving performance by Shelby Benson.

Nicole Hollingsworth led the Arrows with six kills and six blocks, while Taylor Kruisselbrink picked up a team high 11 kills in the game. Amanda Haupert was 7 for 7 on the serve with two aces and 13 digs to go along with eight digs by Brittany Evans.

Kelly Nettik had a team-leading 18 set assists and Tia Muller added four blocks. Megan Remund was 10 for 11 on the serve to go along with six kills.

With the win, JCC moves on to play Windom Thursday in Worthington for the chance to move on to the section championship game Saturday.
