Obituary: Linda Wendt

Linda Kay Wendt, 56, was born on March 16, 1956, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Robert and Bernadine Gieser. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1974. Following an automobile accident in 1977, Linda lived at her parents’ home and was cared for by her mother, Betty Gieser. For the last two years, Linda lived at Ridgewood Care Facility in Worthington. While at Ridgewood, Linda worked and socialized at Worthington DAC. She became part of the Ridgewood and DAC families, developing many close relationships with the staff and residents. Linda had an exceptional fondness for animals and children. She also enjoyed visits from friends and relatives and dining out. Linda died on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Ridgewood Care Facility in Worthington.

Linda is survived by her mother, Betty Gieser; brother, Scott Gieser; sister-in-law, Cathi Courrier Gieser, and nephew, Nickolas Courrier, all of Mankato, MN. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gieser.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Father Jim Callahan officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home.
