WORTHINGTON — It may be the day after Thanksgiving, and yet our thankfulness continues on. I appreciate this time to consciously stop and reflect on blessings and love all the traditions that Thanksgiving entails. I am so thankful to be employed by Worthington Christian School and am blessed to know each and every student on a personal level. I love that many will often pop in my office to say hello or share a treat. I am especially grateful there were several students willing to share their thoughts on Thanksgiving!
Worthington Christian School students are thankful for the following:
l I am thankful for my country where I can enjoy great freedom. In many countries you don’t have freedom like we do in the United States. In some countries you will be persecuted for telling others about Jesus. I am thankful that we have the freedom to elect officers to lead our town, state and country.
l I am thankful for my school and for my friends that I get to see everyday. I am thankful that we could get an education, a good Christian education.
l I am thankful for my teachers and for the desks that I get to use. I am thankful for the room I learn in and all the classmates I learn with. I am thankful for my principal and that she plans fun things for us like an all-school bowling party. She let us skip school for the afternoon just to go bowling!
l I am so thankful to go to a Christian school. I know that my parents make sacrifices so that I can attend WCS. I take for granted all that my parents give up so I guess I am thankful for my parents, too.
l I am thankful for my health. God has blessed me with good health. Many people have a serious illness that keeps them from enjoying just being a kid.
l I am thankful for food. There is always a lot of food to eat at my house. I don’t always like what mom makes for supper, but there is always something I can find to eat.
l I am thankful for my parents and all the rest of my family. I have my parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and even great-grandparents. I love getting together with them at Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is so much food and lots of laughing. It is the best time of year.
l I am thankful for chapel and I especially like when we meet in our small chapel groups.
l I am thankful for clothes. I never have to worry about whether there will be clothes in my closet or drawers to put on every morning.
l I am thankful for Jesus. I know that no one could love me as much as He does, not even my parents. He loved me enough to be nailed to the cross for my sins. I love you, Jesus. Thank You.
From the halls of Worthington Christian School to your homes, Happy Thanksgiving!
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” Psalm 95:2
