Carol Jean (Lolkus) Eggleston, 69, of Worthington, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Mayo Health System Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
Carol Jean (Lolkus) Eggleston, 69, of Worthington, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Mayo Health System Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. She was born October 19, 1943, in Chandler, MN to John and Artie (Van Eck) Lolkus. She attended school in Chandler and graduated in 1961.
After high school she attended Mankato State and Worthington Junior College, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree. Over the years she worked at Campbell Soup Co., Southwest Minnesota Opportunity Council, Worthington Regional Hospital, and Nobles County Family Service, where she worked until she retired.
Carol married Glen Eggleston Jr. on March 3, 1972, in Worthington and was a member of Worthington Christian Church. She was a people person who loved visiting with others and meeting friends for coffee. She was thoughtful and generous and often remembered others with cards and phone calls. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Ed) Hudgins of Eau Claire, WI; her precious grandson, Joshua Hudgins; her sister, Sharon (Gerald) Dale of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Roxanne Taylor, her sister Elaine Lolkus, and an infant sister Joann.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Worthington Christian Church, with Ed Hudgins and Dan Beerman officiating. Burial will be prior to the service in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN.
