Panthers dominate Bluejays

IOWA FALLS — Ellsworth captured nine of 10 matches in a 45-6 wrestling victory versus Minnesota West on Tuesday.

The Bluejays’ only win came at 165 pounds, where Greg Gainey pinned his opponent after 2 minutes, 40 seconds had expired in the first period.

At 149, Michael Tanner dropped a 5-4 decision. At 184, Jerrell Ferguson was edged in a 14-12 decision.

Minnesota West (0-3 in dual meets) was pinned at 141 and lost major decisions at 125 and 197.

The Panthers benefitted from Bluejays’ forfeits at 133, 174 and 285.

Minnesota West travels to compete in the Dragon Open at 9 a.m. Dec. 1 at Minnesota State-Moorhead.
