HILLS — Jacob Derby scored 39 points to lead the Pipestone Area Arrows to a 78-74 non-conference victory over the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots in a contest that was tight from start to finish Friday night.
Collin Moeller added 12 points and six rebounds for the Arrows.
Dylan Gehrke led the Patriots with 29 points, while Jeff Sandbulte (seven rebounds) added 22 points and Carey Taubert brought down 10 rebounds.
Pipestone Area (1-0) hosts Ellsworth on Thursday, while Hills-Beaver Creek (0-1) travels to Inwood, Iowa, on Dec. 8 to play West Lyon.

ELLSWORTH —Eli Ihnen scored 26 points and Collin Brons added 18 points as the Harris-Lake Park Wolves got by the Ellsworth Panthers in a non-conference boys basketball on Friday.
Mitch Leuthold and Johnathon Kramer (three assists) scored 19 and 15 points, respectively, for the Panthers, while a trio of Ellsworth players notched double-digit rebounding totals. Justin Kruse grabbed 12 boards, D’Shaun Herman collected 11 caroms and Daniel Kramer (six assists) added 10 rebounds.
Ellsworth (0-2) travels to Rock Rapids, Iowa, to play Central Lyon on Monday, while Harris-Lake Park (3-0) hosts West Bend-Mallard on Tuesday.

LAMBERTON — Cole Milbrath and Karson Herfurth each scored 16 points to lead the Springfield Tigers past the Red Rock Central Falcons in a non-conference boys basketball game on Friday.
Jeff DeCock led the Falcons with a game-high 17 points and added seven rebounds and six assists. Henry Rogotzke totaled nine points, eight rebounds and five shot blocks, while Maison Miller scored eight points.
Springfield outrebounded Red Rock Central by a 39-28 margin in the season-opening contest for both teams.
The Falcons open the Red Rock Conference on Thursday at Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

SHELDON, Iowa — A big third quarter helped the Sheldon Orabs extend a slim halftime lead into a big Siouxland Conference boys basketball victory on Friday over the George-Little Rock Mustangs.
A total of 10 Orabs scored with Dallas Ennema scoring 15 points to lead the Orabs. Sheldon also received 12 points from Nate Oostra, nine from Collin Wolthuizen and eight each from James Gradert and Tom Brown.
Tanner Ver Steg knocked down six 3-pointers to pace the Mustangs with a game-high 20 points, while Austin Hayenga added seven points.
Sheldon (2-0, 2-0) takes on South O’Brien today in Paulina, Iowa, while George-Little Rock (0-2, 0-2) hosts Rock Valley on Tuesday.
