WORTHINGTON — The Salvation Army will partner with Worthington’s Walmart to host a “Fill the Truck” toy drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Walmart.
The event is designed to help provide new toys to local children in need this Christmas. It is open to the general public who would like to donate new toys to children who take part in Salvation Army programs year-round.
As shoppers enter Walmart Saturday, they will receive a list of suggested gifts to help fill The Salvation Army’s collection bin. Once the bin is full, The Salvation Army will bring the donations to Southwest Minnesota Opportunity Council and distribute the gifts to local children in need. The collection is expected to provide gifts to more than 100 children.
All donations made to the red kettles and “Fill the Truck” event will remain local.
