I’m eagerly anticipating the beginning of the 88th session of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Session will be called to order at noon on Jan. 8. This will be my second term in the Minnesota House.
Last Thursday, I received my committee assignments for the upcoming session. I will serve on the Health and Human Services Policy, Health and Human Services Finance, and Housing Policy and Finance committees.
I am excited to continue working on rural healthcare in the Minnesota House, but I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to make it onto the Agriculture and Environment Committees. There was a lot of interest in those committees, and while I appealed the appointment, there wasn’t room and balance to include me.
Constituents should note that while my phone number and email address will remain the same, I have moved to a new office. If you’re looking to send a letter or visit me when you’re in St. Paul, I’m now located at 393 State Office Building, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul 55155. I can also be reached at rep.joe.schomacker@house.mn or at (651) 296-5505. Office appointments can also be made by using this phone number.
I also plan to send email updates to interested constituents again this year, where I can share his thoughts on what is happening in and around the State Capitol and in southwestern Minnesota. To subscribe, visit my official Minnesota House website at www.house.mn/22A, click on “Email updates” and enter your email address.
