Christmas will be here soon and many of us have been busy shopping for gifts, planning a family gathering and looking forward to office parties. There are so many things competing for our attention, time and energy that I wonder if we are missing something. Have we taken the time to reflect on all the blessings that Jesus has provided?
For me: My wonderful, loving wife who survived cancer; Finding my mother who has been missing for 35 years; Watching my son grow into a handsome young man; Walking hand-in-hand with my daughter, who still thinks I am the greatest person alive; Tucking my family in at night and watching them sleep in peace and security; Having friends and neighbors who care about me and are quick to lend a hand; Being able to worship freely and have a church to attend where I can build a relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As I sit here reflecting on my life, I am humbled by how blessed I am and how great Jesus is. I pray that you make time to stop everything you are doing so that you can reflect on all the gifts that the Lord has already given you. For those of us who are saved, eternal life. For those of us who need to be saved, the opportunity to repent and turn to Christ so that he can give you the greatest Christmas gift of all — salvation.
May this be you best Christmas ever.
