Summary of Minutes

December 6, 2012, Regular Session

The Nobles Board of Commissioners met in regular session

at the Government Center in the City of Worthington.

Commissioners David Benson, Robert Demuth Jr.,

Marvin Zylstra, Vern Leistico and Diane Thier were in attendance.

• Approved amended agenda and proceedings of the

November 13th Public Hearing and November 20th,

2012 County Board meeting.

• The Amendment to Capital Improvement Plan Public

Hearing was continued from November 13th, 2012

and the Board officially received eight (8) written public

comments.

• The Amendment to Capital Improvement Plan Public

Hearing was closed at 4:40 p.m. for public comment.

• Tabled discussion and action on the Capital Improvement

Plan to January 8th, 2013 Board meeting.

• Approved filling Heath Supervisor position.

• Approved conditional use permit to Worthington Excavating,

Worthington, MN for continued operation

of a stockpile site for sand, gravel, stone, other raw

materials and concrete recycling center.

• Authorized payment to Jones Caulking & Tuck Pointing,

Inc. in the amount of $35,458.75 for completed

tuck pointing at the Government Center.

• Approved transitioning two (2) county employees

from the Courthouse Library Union to the AFSCME

Union.

• Approved agreement with Vetter Johnson Architects

for continued services on the Library project.

• Approved November 16th, 2012 travel expenses.

• Authorized payment to Vetter Johnson Architects in

the amount of $22,887.60 for services rendered on

the Nobles County Energy Efficiency Projects.

• The meeting was recessed at 6:00 p.m. until after the

2013 Proposed County Budget and Tax Levy public

meeting.

• The meeting reconvened at 6:33 p.m.

• Approved closing offices on December 24th, 2012 for

non-essential employees.

• Authorized 4th quarter payment of $7,589.25 to the

Retired Senior & Volunteer Program.

• Approved proposal from McPheters Painting & Papering

in the amount of $5,635.00 and empowered Interim

County Administrator Sethi and Commissioner

Leistico to negotiate a reduction at their discretion if

the 2nd floor metal rolling doors should not be

painted.

• Approved November 30th, 2012 travel expenses.

• Approved claims for payment totaling $4,722,417.97

• No further business, meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
