The end of 2012 is just a few short days away. At least we’re no longer talking about that end-of-the-world silliness.
As the current year winds down, we’ve decided to share what our staff feels are the top 12 stories of 2012. We plan on featuring these stories over three days; the three-part feature began in Thursday’s edition and continues today and Saturday.
It should also be noted that in selecting the 12 stories to be featured, the conclusion was also reached that no rankings would be given. Since, for example, Minnesota 60 construction and continuing conversation about a new Nobles County Library are such different types of stories — yet both of unquestionable importance — we decided to not rate one lower or higher than another.
We also tried to take a fresh approach in the way we presented our “year in review” project as opposed to past years. For the current year, we’ve opted for a more eye-catching concept as opposed to a text-heavy rehash.
We hope you like our Top 12, and we also thank you for your readership over the course of 2012. As we head into 2013, we are also hopeful that you continue reading — as well as offering us feedback, story tips, letters to the editor and so on. After all, our job here is to produce the best newspaper we can for you.
