AVOCA — Twenty-one-year-old Tyler Joseph Schreier was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Lime Lake Township, Murray County, Thursday morning.
The Murray County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 7:03 a.m. Thursday of a vehicle on its side near the intersection of 31st Street and 190th Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, Murray County deputies found Schreier deceased near the site of the crash. It appeared he had been ejected from the vehicle.
According to a press release issued by the department, the 2003 Dodge Intrepid was eastbound on Murray County 7 near 190th Avenue when it left the roadway about 250 feet west of the 190th Avenue intersection and continued in the ditch for approximately 177 feet before hitting a driveway, causing the vehicle to flip over multiple times. The vehicle came to rest 146 feet past the driveway.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office and Murray County Coroner’s Office. No other details were available, pending results of an autopsy.
Assisting the Murray County Sheriff’s Department on the scene Thursday morning were the Slayton Police Department, the Murray County Ambulance and the Murray County Coroner.
