HOLIDAY CLASSIC JV BASKETBALL: Worthington, Mankota West meeting in championship game of JV Holiday Classic

WORTHINGTON — Mankato West will play Worthington in the championship game of the 15th annual Daily Globe-Trojan Holiday Classic’s Junior Varsity Division at 2:30 p.m. today.

The Scarlets received nine points from Alex Goettl and eight more from Kevin Marzoff during a 43-23 semifinal win against Perham on Thursday.

Kyle Sonnenberg led the Yellowjackets with six points before fouling out.

Will Mulder scored 13 points to lead Worthington to a 69-46 victory against Sibley East in another semifinal game Thursday.

Jake Woll added 10 points and Randy Traylor chipped in nine for the Trojans.

Jordan Petzel drained a trio of 3-pointers en route to posting a game-high 15 points for the Wolverines.

Sibley East plays Perham in the third-place game at 1 p.m. today.
