PREP WRESTLING: Huskies, Cobras compete at Rumble on the Red

FARGO — The Windom Area/Mountain Lake Area Cobras had no one place, but took home nine wins at the Rumble on the Red wrestling tournament over the weekend.
Wyatt Stevens picked up his only win at the 113-pound weight class by pinning Lukas Maughan of Fargo North in 2 minutes, 19 seconds. Joe Fischenisch got two wins for the Cobras at 120-pounds on a pin of Shawn Nieto (Cleveland) and by decision over Travis Swanson (Cambridge Isanti).
Ben Matter took home a win over Victor Tokman of Eagan at 152-pounds in a pin that took 3 minutes, 17 seconds. Andrew Larson (160-pounds) also picked up a pin of Taylor Clark (Fertile Beltrami) in 50 seconds.
Jackson won his first match at 182-pounds over Zach Formento of Cleveland by pin in 5 minutes, 43 seconds and then went on to pin Jacob Brown of Elk River in 3 minutes, 13 seconds.
After losing an 8-6 decision to Tyler Midas of Foley, Jackson picked up another win over Shane Curtis of Stewartville on an 11-5 decision. Jackson then pinned Omaha Skutt’s Alex Kenkel in 1 minute, 28 seconds to claim his fourth win of the tournament. In his last match, Jackson lost to Moorhead’s A.J. Wheeler on a 4-3 decision.
The Jackson County Central Huskies took second behind a two-way tie for first between No results were received on individual wrestlers.
The Cobras head to Fulda to take on Montevideo and the Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors Thursday, while the Huskies travel to Adrian to take on the Adrian Area Dragons Thursday.
