BOYS WRESTLING ROUNDUP: Huskies rebound to defeat Adrian

ADRIAN — The Adrian Area Dragons wrestling team hosted a triangular Thursday night with the Jackson County Central Huskies and the Wabasso/Red Rock Central Bobcats.

In a thrilling dual between JCC and AA, the Huskies battled back to claim a 38-30 win after trailing through the first half of the dual. Scores from the other duals were not available at press time.

Skylar Heronimus (106 pounds) and Ryan Elias (113) posted pins to get the Dragons off to a 12-0 start, before Kyle Edlin claimed a 12-7 decision at 120 to get the Huskies on the board.

Jayden Bullerman extended the Dragons’ lead with a fall at 126 to make it 18-3, but the Huskies rolled from there.

Cameron Henning claimed a decision at 132 for JCC, while Eliot Jurries had a technical fall at 138, Dylan Riggle had a decision at 145 and Paden Moore (152) and Keegan Moore (160) each posted major decisions win to surge the Huskies to a 22-18 lead.

Justin Elias put Adrian Area back in front (24-22) with a fall at 170, but three-consecutive wins gave the Huskies the lead for good.

Darick Vancura won by major decision at 182, while Nate Guggisberg and Jack Ziemer each collected pinfall wins to put JCC ahead 38-24.

Adam Garms claimed a fall for Adrian Area at heavyweight to finish the dual.

Fulda/Murray County Central Triangular

SLAYTON — The Windom/Mountain Lake Area Cobras defeated the Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors, 66-12, in a triangular hosted by the Warriors.

Scores for Fulda/MCC against Montevideo and W/ML against Montevideo were unavailable at press time.

In the Cobras/Warriors dual, the Cobras used seven falls, three forfeits and two decisions to earn the win over the Warriors.

Hunter Quiring (106), Hayden Fast (120), Andrew Larson (160), Jacob Junker (182), Aaron Flatgard (195), Vince Johnson (220) and Neil Litfin (Hwt.) all posted wins via fall, while wins by Jared Willaby (132), Luis Ramirez (145) and Ben Matter (152) came by forfeit.

Wyatt Stevens (113) and Jacob Suess (138) had W/ML’s other wins with decisions.

Fulda/MCC claimed wins at 126 and 170 as Ben Blanchette and Ben Loosbrock each won by fall.

Quad County Triangular

GRANITE FALLS — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton lost a pair of duals to Quad County (47-18) and Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle Valley (47-22) on Thursday.

Against Quad County, the Panthers' Logan Axford (120 pounds), Austin Peterson (160) and Tanner Michelson (170) all won their matches by fall.

Against the Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle Valley, Kyle Gilbertson (138) was a winner by fall, Peterson (160) won by major decision, while Axford (120) and Caleb Christian (126) received forfeit victories.

West Sioux Double Dual

HAWARDEN, Iowa — Central Lyon/George-Little Rock won a pair of duals Thursday at West Sioux.

The Lions defeated Hinton 51-24 and knocked off West Sioux 60-10.

LE MARS, Iowa — Sibley-Ocheyedan overcame Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 54-25 in a dual Thursday.
