FAIRMONT — Kip Jenson had a three-point game as Worthington defeated Fairmont A 4-2 in a Squirt Division hockey game Sunday.

FAIRMONT — Kip Jenson had a three-point game as Worthington defeated Fairmont A 4-2 in a Squirt Division hockey game Sunday.

Jenson scored the Trojans first goal and assisted two other tallies. He set up goals from Dallas Sontag and Carlos Garcia.

Colby Nickel also scored for Worthington.

The Trojans trailed 1-0 before Jenson scored his goal in the first period to tie the game.

Worthington led 2-1 as a minute remained in the first period. Jenson’s pass to Sontag beat the Fairmont goalie to hand the Trojans a one-goal lead.

Nickel’s second-period goal increased the Worthington lead to 3-1. Jenson’s second assist was a pass to Garcia, whose goal handed the Trojans a 4-1 advantage.

Worthington goalie Eddy Canales posted the victory by making 14 stops on 16 shots.

The Trojans dropped a pair of games Saturday, 13-0 against Luverne at home and 8-2 against Marshall A at Fairmont.

Worhtington returns to action at 8 a.m. today with a game against Cottage Grove at Austin.
