BRAINERD — Central Lakes claimed an 88-78 overtime victory over Minnesota West at the Central Lakes Classic college men’s basketball tournament Friday night.
Central Lakes led 45-43 at halftime, and after the score was tied at 75 at the end of regulation, the Raiders outscored the Bluejays 13-3 in the extra session.
“We didn’t execute very well in overtime,” Minnesota West head coach Justin Heckenlaible said. “We did play hard, but we have to defend and rebound better if we’re going to win on the road.”
The Bluejays outscored the Raiders 33-18 from the 3-point line, as Orie Brown drilled five long-distance shots and finished with 25 points.
Tyler Aquallo and Cody Harris also scored in double figures for Minnesota West, netting 17 and 12 points, respectively.
The Bluejays (7-4) play Vermillion at 2 p.m. today in the Central Lakes Classic.
