BOYS WRESTLING ROUNDUP: JCC takes first at Hutchinson Invititational
HUTCHINSON — Elliot Jurries, Keegan Moore and Darick Vancura won their weight classes as Jackson County Central placed first at the Hutchinson Invitational on Saturday.

Jurries (25-3 at 132), Moore (16-3 at 160) and Vancura (25-1 at 170) were among 14 Huskies who placed among the top six.
JCC outlasted Prior Lake 202½-199 for the team championship.
Jordan Biehn (17-6 at 120) and Paden Moore (23-4 at 145) both finished second as five Jackson County Central wrestlers ended up in title bouts.
The Huskies’ third-place finishers were Kyle Edlin (19-8 at 113) and Cameron Henning (22-6 at 126). Dylan Riggle (16-12 at 138), Spencer Johnson (4-2 at 182) and Nate Guggisberg (12-13 at 195) all ended up fourth for JCC.
Fifth-place finishers were Jake Ziemer (12-15 at 220) and Nate Horn (8-9 at 285), while Ryker VanderWoude (13-10 at 106) and Luke Norland (18-7 at 152) each placed sixth.
Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Invitational
LAKE CRYSTAL — Windom/Mountain Lake had one champion and four runners-up during a second-place finish at the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
Jared Willaby improved to 21-5 overall after winning three matches (one pin), including the 126-pound championship.
Wyatt Stevens (22-9 at 106), Joe Fischenich (20-11 at 113), Andrew Larson (19-12 at 160) and Vince Johnson (23-7 at 182) all placed second for the Cobras.
Four more Windom/Mountain Lake wrestlers finished third, including Ben Matter (20-7 at 152), Jake Junker (16-15 at 170), Aaron Flatgaard (6-13 at 220) and Neil Litfin (11-5 at 285).
Hunter Quiring (16-12 at 120) placed fifth for the Cobras, while Jacob Suess (5-21 at 138) and Demar Rodney (4-7 at 195) posted sixth-place efforts.
Luis Ramirez (132) and Danny Kneeland did not place for Windom/Mountain Lake.
Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, which scored 214½ points, topped Windom/Mountain Lake (201 points) for the team title.
Luverne Duals
LUVERNE — Wabasso/Red Rock Central and Blue Earth Area each posted 4-0 records during the Luverne Duals on Saturday.
The Class 1A, No. 4-ranked Bobcats improved to 19-0 overall in duals this season after defeating Sioux Falls Lincoln (61-14), Sheldon/South O’Brien (66-12), Luverne (56-6) and Brandon Valley (50-16).
The Cardinals (10-4 overall in duals) went 3-1 Saturday, including wins over Sheldon/South O’Brien (42-25), Worthington (34-31) and Sioux Falls Lincoln (54-26).
The Trojans (3-10 overall in duals), who went 1-3 Saturday, defeated Sheldon/South O’Brien 51-23, but also lost to Brandon Valley (35-31) and Blue Earth Area (54-15).
Worthington had two wrestlers — Hser Eh Pwae at 106 and Anthony Luft at 120 — who won all four of their matches Saturday. Pwae and Luft each posted a pin, while Luft earned the 100th victory of his prep wrestling career.
Other Trojan wrestlers included Vince Riley (two pins at 138) and Zach Kempema (two pins at 160), who were both 3-1. Joe Pavelko (two pins, who competed at 195 and 220) was 2-1. Hser Moo Pwae (one pin at 113) and Jeffrey Camacho (one pin at 126) each posted a 2-2 marks. Carson Hagen (competing at 195 and 220) was 2-2, while Blake Schroeder (170) went 1-2. Cody Michelson (one pin at 132) and Zach Bruns (145) both finished 1-3.
Pipestone (8-4 overall in duals) went 2-2 Saturday. The Arrows topped Sioux Falls Lincoln (66-12) and Sheldon/South O’Brien (61-15), but lost to Blue Earth Area (35-34) and Brandon Valley (39-33).
Plum Creek Duals
TRACY —Minneota went 4-0 to win the 31st Plum Creek Duals on Saturday.
Dawson-Boyd placed second with a 3-1 mark. Marshall broke even at 2-2, while Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove was 1-3 and Fulda/Murray County Central went 0-4.
The Vikings defeated T-M-B/W-WG 71-9, Fulda/Murray County Central 58-6, Dawson-Boyd 42-35 and Marshall 58-9.
The Blackjacks topped Fulda/Murray County Central 49-22, Marshall 40-39 and T-M-B/W-WG 51-25.
The Tigers posted wins against T-M-B/W-WG 48-30 and Fulda/Murray County Central 66-12.
The Chargers turned back the Warriors 48-28.
