GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: H-LP runs over Trinity

LAKE PARK, Iowa — Noreen Morrow, Katherin Ihnen and Mariah Gath each scored 15 points or more to help the Harris-Lake Park Wolves improve to 10-6 overall with a 66-36 non-conference win over the Trinity Christian Tigers on Monday.
Morrow scored a team-best 18 points, while Ihnen and Gath followed with 16 and 15 points, respectively, for the Wolves, who had seven players find the score column.
Nicole Gritters paced the Tigers (5-10 overall) with a game-high 20 points.
Harris-Lake Park, which is 6-1 in the Cornbelt Conference, hosts a league game with North Union on Friday.

HILLS — Lexi Ackerman scored a game-high 17 points as the Iowa Class 1A, No. 4-ranked Central Lyon Lions improved to 14-2 overall with a non-league win over the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots.
Kelsey Ackerman and Sarah Halse added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Lions (11-2 Siouxland Conference), who host a league game with Okoboji tonight.
The leaders for the Patriots included Taylor Wingert’s 10 points, Paige Leuthold’s 11 rebounds and Haley Van Wyhe’s five steals.
Hills-Beaver Creek (5-10 overall, 2-7 Red Rock Conference) travels to play Southwest Christian in a league game tonight in Edgerton.

GEORGE, Iowa — The George-Little Rock Mustangs fell to the Iowa Class 3A, 15th-ranked Unity Christian Knights in a non-conference game Monday night.
Following an 11-11 tie after 8 minutes, the Knights outscored the Mustangs 19-8 in the second frame to take command of the game.

EDGERTON — The Edgerton Flying Dutchmen fell to the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights in a non-conference game Monday.
Breanna Nelson (three 3-pointers) led the Dutchmen with 11 points. Tanner Gunnink added nine points and Alexis Mertens scored six markers for Edgerton (2-12 overall, 2-8 Red Rock Conference), which hosts Ellsworth tonight.
Kaylie Nielsen and Allison Porchadt (10 rebounds) each scored 12 points to lead the Knights, while Leslie Willert added 11 points and six rebounds and Justine Possail totaled eight points and three assists. R-T-R (10-4 overall, 7-1 Camden Conference) hosts Dawson-Boyd tonight.
