Obituary: Evelyn Doeden

Evelyn Mae Doeden, age 85, was born on November 28, 1927, in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Adolph and Annie (Stubbe) Norman. She worked as a housekeeper for a number of people in the area. Evelyn married Lloyd Franklin Doeden on June 12, 1946, in Sibley, IA. They settled in Indian Lake Township where they farmed until 1978, when they moved to Bigelow, MN. In 1990, they moved to Worthington, MN. Evelyn died on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington.

Evelyn is survived by one brother, Ivan Norman of Hobbs, NM; one sister, Lois (Roger) Sixta of Ocheyedan, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Doeden of Worthington, Wayne (Bev) Doeden of Burnsville, MN, Jennie Wieler of St. Paul, MN, and Fay Hartman of Worthington, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlon Norman and Junior Norman and one sister, Delores Wolf.

Family and friends celebrated her life at her 85th birthday party in December 2012. A family memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the Worthington Christian Church in Worthington, MN. A family graveside service will be held in the Worthington Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Meadows of Worthington Van Fund.
