PREP BOYS HOCKEY: Eagles win behind Bartosh

WASECA — Zach Bartosh scored 3 minutes into overtime as Windom Area defeated Waseca 4-3 in a non-conference hockey game Thursday.
Travis Janssen’s pass to Bartosh netted the game-winning goal as the Eagles improved to 11-8-0 this season.
The lead went back-and-forth throughout the entire game.
After J.P. Eykyn scored a short-handed goal to give the Bluejays a 1-0 lead with 11:55 left in the first period, Devin Nielsen tied the game at 1 at the 2:12 mark on passes from Bartosh and Dylan Pygman.
Waseca went ahead 2-1 in the second period. Josh Metzdorff’s power-play goal came at the 15:18 mark and was set up by Michael Priebe and Cody Ulfers.
Less than 5 minutes later, Bartosh produced his second assist of the game, helping Mitchell Macek tie the contest at 2.
The Bluejays took a 3-2 lead with 62 seconds remaining in the second on a goal from Wyatt Krampitz. But Janssen made it a 3-all game with a goal with 1 second left in the period.
After a scoreless third period, the game moved to overtime.
The Eagles, who outshot the Bluejays 53-36, went 0 of 6 on the power play. Metzdorff scored on Waseca’s only man-advantage.
Ben Strubbe made 33 saves on 36 shots to become the winning goalie. Austin Stroda had 28 saves on 32 shots in taking the loss.
