WORTHINGTON — A 6-year-old Iowa boy died Saturday evening in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 west of Worthington.
Jonah Holmes, whose community of residence was not included on the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, died at the scene. Three others were listed in critical condition.
A 1998 Ford Explorer operated by James G. Fisher, 30, of Luverne, was westbound on I-90 when vehicle went out of control, went through the median into eastbound lanes and was struck broadside by a Nissan Versa operated bu Kevin B. Bakker, 44, of Spirit Lake, Iowa. The accident was reported at 6:41 p.m. Saturday.
Fisher was treated and released, while Bakker was in critical condition. Two other passengers in the Nissan, Michelle N. Holmes, 27, of Spirit Lake, and Fisher Bakker, 1, were also in critical condition; the deceased was also a passenger in that vehicle.
Assisting at the scene were the Worthington and Rushmore fire departments, Sanford Ambulance and Adrian Ambulance.
