SMAHC offers grant workshop Thursday

MARSHALL — Young artists in grades five through 12 are invited to a Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council (SMAHC) Art Study Opportunity for Youth grant workshop from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the SMAHC office, 114 N. Third St., Marshall. The workshop is free, but registrations are requested by calling 1-800- 622-5284, or emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
Art Study Opportunity for Youth grants are available for up to $500 to aid area artists in grades 5-12 to study art with a practicing professional artist, attend an arts workshop, series of classes or special training opportunity. Funds for this category may not be used to participate in a school or organization band or choir trip, nor for standard weekly lessons such as piano or voice lessons. Artistic areas include: dance, literature, media arts, music, theater and visual arts. Preference will be given to students who have some experience in the art form.
The grant application deadline is March 15. Apps are available online at www.smahc.org.
