PCHS schedules annual meeting

PIPESTONE — The Pipestone County Historical Society has scheduled its 2013 annual meeting for Feb. 23 at the Performing Arts Center in Pipestone.

The business meeting will start at 1 p.m., followed by the speaker’s presentation. Light refreshments will be offered.

Richard Gist, who wil l serve as speaker, grew up in Pipestone and is a member of the Class of 1952. He has recently release a memoir, “With a Yes and Yippee,” which explores the life of a boy growing up in a small, insulated Mid-western town (Pipestone) during one of America’s most trying periods.

The public is invited to hear Gist speak. There is no admission, but donations will go towards the Pipestone County Museum.
