TROJAN BOYS HOCKEY: Worthington seeded eighth in boys hockey sectional tournament

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Trojans boys hockey team received the No. 8 seed and will face No. 9 Fairmont Tuesday in the first round of the Class A Boys Hockey Section 3 Tournament.
The winner of that game will travel to play the top-seeded Luverne Cardinals in the quaterfinals on Feb. 21 at a yet to be determined time.
Other quarterfinal games include the No. 5 Windom Area Eagles taking on the No. 4 Marshall Tigers in Marshall on Feb. 21. New Ulm has the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will host No. 7 Redwood Valley, while Litchfield received the No. 3 seed and hosts No. 6 Hutchinson, also on Feb. 21.
The Trojans finished the season 3-15-0 overall and 0-10-0 in the Southwest Conference.
The Cardinals have won 14 of their last 15 games on their way to a 20-4-0 record (8-2-0 in conference) and travel to Minnehaha Academy on Friday for their season finale.
The Eagles completed their regular-season schedule with an 8-4 win over Redwood Valley on Tuesday to give Windom Area a 13-9 record overall and a 6-4 record in the conference.
