WORTHINGTON — Worthington natives Cy Amundson and Joel Hoekstra recently sold a TV pilot to MTV.
While the show, called “Watching the Wilsons,” is designed to have the look and feel of a reality show, it will be a hybrid of script and improvisation.
The pilot has been described as similar to the E! reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” mixed with a bit of the Bluths from “Arrested Development” and the Pritchetts from “Modern Family.”
Amundson will star in the proposed show, and he and Hoekstra will act as co-executive producers with Samantha Saifer.
Experienced reality TV show producers Jay Blumenfield and Tony Marsh will act as executive producers.
Hoekstra and Amundson won’t find out if the show will become a series until later this year.
Named CMT’s Next Big Comic for 2011, Amundson is a well-known comedian and performs regularly in Minneapolis.
He will perform March 26-30 at the Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis .
